A bath bomb can pass a fragrance and appearance review yet arrive with chipped edges, powder in the carton or a damaged sleeve. For a brand or distributor, the approved product is the finished unit inside its actual sale pack and shipping case. Those layers need their own acceptance record before a bulk order moves.

This bath bomb bulk packaging checklist covers protection and receiving controls. Our MOQ and packaging guide helps choose a pack format; this article explains how to approve that format for a particular distribution route. Start with the bath bomb category, then attach the selected product and pack revisions to your inquiry.

Approve a packed reference, not a loose sample

Xiaolv packs a bath bomb with the wrap and box used for the approved reference sample.

Keep a reference unit in the exact intended configuration: bath bomb formula and shape revision, individual wrap or pouch, label, insert, retail carton if used, and outer shipping case. Record the sample date and code. A loose bomb proves little about scuffing, label abrasion or movement inside the final pack.

For each layer, write down the purchasing purpose. The immediate pack should protect the unit under the agreed storage and distribution conditions. Inserts or dividers should hold units in position. The outer case needs an agreed count, layout, closure and handling marks. Ask the supplier to identify materials and dimensions rather than relying on terms such as premium wrap or export carton.

If the brand changes fragrance, color, size, wrap or case layout, identify which acceptance checks must be repeated. The fragrance substitution checklist covers one such change. Reusing an old packaging approval for a different finished unit can hide a new fit or handling problem.

Set moisture and appearance checks for your distribution route

Agree on the conditions the packed product is expected to encounter: warehouse storage, ocean or air movement, local distribution, and the time between receipt and sale. Define the observations your team will record, such as wrap integrity, visible surface change, clumping, powder, fragrance or color transfer, and label condition. A buyer should have a qualified product reviewer decide whether any observation calls for further stability or safety work.

Ask for packaging material specifications and the evidence available for the proposed pack. If a supplier claims moisture protection, clarify the material, seal method and test conditions behind that statement. Avoid declaring a universal humidity limit or shelf life from a short sample observation. The Singapore Health Sciences Authority’s cosmetics GMP guidance describes controls for packaging materials, storage and traceability; apply the requirements relevant to the destination market with a qualified reviewer.

Use a dated observation sheet. The minimum useful fields are sample and packaging revision, storage conditions, inspection date, photographs, observed change, reviewer and decision. That record is more useful at reorder time than a general claim that the first sample looked fine.

Test the complete shipping case against the real route

Xiaolv checks how dividers protect bath bombs inside a shipping carton.

Pack the agreed case quantity with the final dividers, inner units, filler and closure. Photograph the closed case and its internal layout. Note case dimensions, gross weight, product orientation and any empty space that permits movement. Ask the supplier and logistics provider which handling hazards are realistic for the planned route.

Agree on a suitable transit evaluation before ordering at volume. Depending on the route and pack, the plan may include handling, drop, vibration, compression or environmental conditioning. The International Safe Transit Association describes different procedures for different distribution environments; do not claim an ISTA pass unless the specific packaged product was tested to an identified procedure.

After the agreed evaluation, inspect both the outer case and a defined sample of units. Record cracked edges, loose powder, shifted units, damaged wraps and label marks. Let the buyer and supplier agree on acceptance criteria before seeing the results. If the pack fails, change one component at a time and retain the new revision with its result.

Make receiving data useful for the next order

At the destination, record the purchase order, production batch or lot, carton range, received count and visible case condition. Open a documented sample of cartons from the shipment and record the unit findings. Keep photographs with the carton and batch references so the supplier can locate the affected stock.

Separate cosmetic differences from damage that blocks sale under the agreed specification. A small surface mark, broken seal and fragmented unit need different decisions. Put the defect definitions, sampling plan, escalation contact and remedy in the purchase agreement. This guide does not impose one universal breakage allowance.

For mixed fragrances or sizes, add the SKU and carton marking to the check. The mixed-SKU carton traceability checklist shows the same receiving principle in another spa product. A receiving log that preserves SKU, batch and carton identity makes a packaging change easier to evaluate on the next order.

Use a packaging RFQ with measurable acceptance points

Xiaolv records carton and unit condition during bath bomb shipment receiving.

Send the target bath bomb weight and dimensions, shape, formula or approved sample reference, destination market, individual pack, label and case requirements, expected route and order quantity. Ask for a separately identified packaging alternative if the supplier believes another pack will protect the product better. Each alternative should have its own material specification, sample and quotation.

Request the sequence for pack samples, approval, any agreed transit check, production and final inspection. Ask who will record the results and which revision will appear on the purchase order. MOQ, lead time and documentation should be confirmed for the chosen formula and packaging combination, rather than copied from a general category description.

When the brief and acceptance points are ready, Request a Quote. Include your packaging drawing or reference sample if available. NailLegend can discuss the selected product, customization and order scope; the supplier’s written response should identify the actual pack, testing scope and commercial terms proposed for your project.
